Hello and a warm Scottish welcome to Stubborn Stag. My name is Paul and I make genuine Scottish Stag Antler Kilt Pins Wedding Favours and other Scottish Highland gifts. All of my items are handmade in Scotland.
A Sgian Dubh is a small knife worn in the hose or sock of a Traditional Scottish Highland Outfit. There are as many explanations as to the true meaning of Sgian Dubh as there are ways to spell it. Sgian Dubh, Skean Dhu, Sgian Dhu but it is generally accepted to mean a dark or hidden knife or dagger. Often antler is referred to as deer horn but antlers are actually bone, unlike horn which is a keratin.

My Sgian Dubhs and Kilt Pins are hand made using Scottish Red deer antler that is predominantly cast in March through to May each year.
Each section of deer antler is picked for its suitability and shape. Each Sgian Dubh is made to suit either right and left handed wearers. On occasions however due to the nature and uniqueness of the antler a Dubh may be more suited to one or the other and if applicable this will be noted in its description.

As each of my and are handmade and unique only one is worked on at a time. I do not mass produce or outsource any of my handmade Sgian Dubh or Kilt Pin products and they are all handmade in Scotland by myself.
A Sgian Dubh or Kilt Pin is the perfect special wedding gift for Groom, Groomsmen, Best man or father of the bride. New pieces are always being made so check back regularly or 'Like' Stubborn Stag on to keep up to date with all the latest news, offers and products. I also make affordable Scottish Wedding Favours.
